Technology Research

Interdisciplinary Group

What is 'TRIG'?

The Technology Research Interdisciplinary Group (TRIG) is an interdisciplinary group of collaborators committed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Explore the relationship between Humanity and Technology by reading and presenting research.

  • Brainstorm epic ideas that span multiple disciplines.

  • Conduct collaborative research.

Previously, we also provided learning/training in microprocessors (e.g. Arduinos, sensors, actuators) for the purpose of enhancing research. If there is enough interest we can always resume this.

Our meetings are open to everyone and we would love to have you attend. People from completely different disciplines are very encouraged to attend because we want different perspectives. You do not have to be affiliated with Brandeis, we have high school students and we have people from industry that attend.

Currently, our regular weekly meetings are Wednesday 8 PM EST.

Why should you join?

  • Skill and portfolio development

  • Microprocessor workshops (e.g. how to use Arduinos in your research)

  • For undergrads, a possibility at a senior thesis

  • For some projects, a possibility of a publication

  • Potentially further funding via SPARK/SPROUT or other external funding

  • Having fun imagining, exploring and creating something that is epic and unexpected
