Research Interests: I am interested in the molecular and circuit mechanisms that underlie plasticity in the brain. In my thesis research, I have studied the Ras-like GTPase Rem2, which is expressed in the hippocampus and has several functions in neuronal morphology and physiology. Relevant to my interests, Rem2 inhibits CaMKII in vitro, a notable plasticity molecule. My work shows that Rem2 inhibition of CaMKII is important for normal CA1 LTP in the hippocampus, and I am exploring the molecular mechanisms that underlie this exciting finding.
Personal Interests: I divulge in fiction writing, especially song lyrics, short stories and novels. I am deeply consumed by wanderlust, spending much of my free time traveling to new places. I also enjoy cooking, baking, swimming and watching niche shows on Netflix.
