Finding stability amidst chaos: how dynamic chromatin interactions produce stable epigenetic states

Cells can establish gene expression states that can be inherited across multiple generations. This process involves the modification of DNA packaging proteins called histones that serve as a scaffold for the binding and assembly of complexes that can silence or activate gene expression. My talk will explore themes of how cells leverage transient interactions between proteins that bind modified histones to establish epigenetic memory that is stable and heritable across many generations.
