The In Vitro Methods (Duane Juang) Lab focuses on developing novel, enabling tools at the intersection of engineering, biochemistry, and quantum physics to address pressing challenges in human health. We harness various physical phenomena (fluidics, quantum sensing), protein engineering, and bioorthogonal chemistries to create simple and accessible tools to further biological discovery or advance medical diagnostics. We aim to develop high-throughput functional screening tools for the discovery of novel antimicrobials, as well as better biosensing technologies for disease diagnostics at the point-of-care.Â
