The NEO 400 is housed in the basement of Edison-Lecks, Room 11 (Bay 1). Keycard access is required. It is a 2-channel instrument equipped with a X-nuclei optimized 5mm double resonance broad bande Bruker iProbe, a BCU-II chiller for VT gas cooling, and a 24 position SampleCase automatic sample changer. It was installed in February 2024 (purchased with funds from NIH 1S10OD034395-01 , Isaac Krauss, PI).
Current software is Topspin 4.3.0, with IconNMR 6.1.0 for automation.
The 400 MR is located in the basement of the Shapiro Science Center, Room 00-23A. Keycard access is required. The spectrometer is a 2-channel instrument equipped with z-axis gradients and auto tunable OneNMR probe. The outer coil of the probe is tunable to 1H or 19F, while the inner coil can be tuned to nuclei within the frequency range 15N-31P. The 400 MR is primarily used for lab courses and multinuclear organic and inorganic samples. It was installed in 2011 (purchased with funds from USDE P116Z100054, J. K. Pontrello, PI).
Current software is Vnmrj 3.2A.
The 800 is located in the Landsman Research Facility near the entrance to campus. It is a 4-channel instrument equipped with a 5 mm TCI cryoprobe (1H, {13C, 15N}) which includes cooled preamps for 1H, 13C, 15N and 2H. The 1H channel can also be tuned to 19F, and there is lockswitch hardware to enable 2H decoupling. There is a BCU-II chiller for VT gas cooling, and a 24 position SampleCase automatic sample changer with sample cooling capability. The spectrometer is ideally configured for multidimensional experiments on biological (protein, enzyme, RNA, DNA) samples, including 13C-detect experiments. There is a small wet-lab area in the facility for non-hazardous sample manipulation and a small refrigerator for sample storage.
The NEO console, BMPC-II, and CryoPlatform/5 were installed in July 2019 (purchased with funds from Brandeis University and HHMI, D. Kern, PI). The magnet was installed in December 2005 (purchased under NIHRR High-End Instrumentation program, 1S10RR017269-01, T. C. Pochapsky, PI).
Current software is Topspin 4.1.4.
