What are the benefits of the course?

The course is spread across 2 years: Unit 1 in year 1 and Unit 2 in year 2. 

It is a fully accredited level 3 course which gives you 16 UCAS points.

What will I study?

Throughout Arts Award you will study a range of skills involved within the arts and how to get industry experience to widen your knowledge on roles within the arts world. You will build on existing skills and develop new ones. Gold Arts Award is a young person-led qualification that encourages creativity and independent learning. It challenges young people to develop their arts practice, lead an arts project, investigate topical arts issues and get involved in the arts world. It will help develop communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, organisation and management skills; all of which will be beneficial to any job role in the future. You will be involved in volunteering, attending arts projects / shows, training opportunities, networking, team building, issues within the arts and leading a project and everything that involves. 

How will I be assessed?

To achieve the Gold Arts Award you will create a portfolio however you would like: this could be for example in the form of a blog, powerpoint or a website. Your portfolio will be separated into 2 units: Personal Arts Developments and Leadership of an Arts Project. Your portfolio will consist of research, evidence of practical work and industry exploration. You will also work with other industry professionals and artists. 

What does it lead to?

Arts Award can lead to a national recognised qualification enabling progression into further education and employment. You will be building arts knowledge and understanding whilst developing leadership skills which can be applied to any job role that might come up in the future. 

Entry Requirements: 

Absolutely none! This course is about allowing you to take part in something extra but at the same time not have any prerequisites and also not take up too much time! Arts Award will allow you to be involved in the arts in any way that interests you!
