STAND UP COMEDY FOR BEGINNERS (WEDNESDAY)

Ever wanted to try stand-up but didnt' know where to start? This is a beginner-friendly class that will introduce students to finding material, writing jokes, developing their own comedic voice and putting together a short stand up set.  Along the way students will also work on confidence, public speaking and becoming more comfortable speaking on in front of others.  The goal is to have some fun, learn the basics and possibly check off that "I've always wanted to try that" item from the bucket list

QUINCY'S GRANITE RAILWAY: 200 YEARS OF HISTORY (THURSDAY)

Built in 1826, Quincy's historic Granite Railway was created to transport massive blocks of granite from the Quincy quarries on their journey to Charlestown, where they would be used to build the Bunker Hill Monument.

Now, 200 years later, discover the remarkable story of the railway, the quarries and the people who helped make Quincy granite famous.

Through an engaging presentation and historic images, you'll learn how Quincy's granite industry helped transform construction and transportation in America, hear stories from this fascinating period of local history, and have plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
