College Concurrent Credit & Vocational Education Partners

Brookland High School partners with area colleges and career education providers to offer students expanded opportunities for college credit, career training, and workforce preparation while still in high school.

College Concurrent Credit Opportunities

Through our partnership with Arkansas State University, students have the opportunity to earn college credit through concurrent courses taught on the Brookland campus by Brookland teachers, as well as online courses offered through A-State.

Concurrent Courses Offered on Campus

Students may earn college credit in the following courses with a teacher from Brookland High School:

• College English Composition I & II

• College English Literature

• College U.S. History

• College Elementary Spanish I & II

• College Biology

• College Algebra

• College Pre-Calculus

Online Concurrent Courses

Students may also take online courses through A-State. Popular options include:

• College Psychology

• College Fine Arts – Music

• College Medical Terminology

• College Oral Communications

Technical & Career Education Opportunities

Brookland High School partners with Black River Technical College and Northeast Arkansas Career and Technical Center to provide students with hands-on training and career-focused programs.

Black River Technical College – Paragould Campus

Students may participate in technical programs through BRTC. Students must provide their own transportation to the Paragould campus.

Available programs include:

• Welding

• Industrial Electricity

• Health Sciences (RN/EMT pathways)

• Allied Health (CNA/Phlebotomy)

Northeast Arkansas Career & Technical Center

Through our partnership with NEACTC, students can participate in career and technical programs designed to prepare them for college, careers, and industry certifications.

Transportation is provided for students in grades 10–12. Juniors and seniors may also drive themselves.
