We foster mentorship among students through the use of team leads. Each department is lead by a mentor nominated students. Leads help each departments through leadership and experience.
Our whole team is led by our captains. From students who apply. mentors select those who demonstrate leadership and great passion for robotics.
While many team members travel with the team to competition, the drive team, made up of five dedicated team members, are the ones tasked with diving, operating, and maintaining the robot during game matches.
The design team is in charge of designing an optimal robot for the task the team is given. They create computer or hand drawn sketches of prototypes.
The mechanical team is in charge of manufacturing and assembly of the robot. They start with building physical prototypes to test and optimize components. Then they build the physical structure of the robot.
The electrical team is the bridge between programing and mechanical elements of the robot. Their job is to create and mange electrical wires to each aspect of the robot that needs a connection to the power source. They make it so the brain of the robot has the power to execute programed commands.
The programing team is brings the roboto to life. Members of this team create programming logic between the operators controls and the robots functions. Along with making sure the robot functions at maximum capacity, they also program the robots autonomous mode.
The media team documents the team's season through photography and videography. They work in graphic design, video production, and photo editing. They also keep our team's website up-to-date as new information is available.
The Media team also works closely with the awards team on many projects such as the Chairman's video.
The scouting team gathers and analyzes data from game matches, the game manual and trial matches. They also communicate with member of other teams. They compile all of their data into a database that provides crucial strategic information for the drive team.
Part of winning the game is knowing the right strategy. This sub-team learns the rules inside and out and identifies the best ways to play any given game.
Our awards team is dedicated to displaying all of the work that out team does in the name of collaboration and community's support. They show case our community out reach and the teams support for all of its members in application for FIRST awards.
FIRST Robotics provides an infrastructure for direct collaboration between industry professionals and students. Our team has a diverse group of adult mentors. Our mentors come from a variety of industries including automotive, automotive supply, information technology, education, computer programming, and warehouse management. We also proudly showcase women in engineering with the majority of our team mentors being women.
