Team 2960 is a longstanding participant and competition host for OCCRA. Students compete in OCCRA during the fall, from September through the end of November. Unlike the FIRST robotics competition program, OCCRA robots are entirely student-designed and built. Precision machines (lathe, mill, and CNC) are not permitted. All parts on the robot must cost under $100.
During each season, we compete in three qualifying events and a county championship. OCCRA differs from FIRST in that the entire season is student-run. Students are responsible for the planning, design, engineering, programming, and problem-solving of each year's OCCRA robot. The OCCRA rules specifically prohibit adult intervention and guidance except for safety or the instance where a student asks a direct question.
