APA Title Page Formatting
Instructions for Creating an APA Title Page in Word

Start in Word.
BEGINNING HEADER
Click in header space to make live.
Click Different Page Number.
Insert Page Number, Top Right.
Move cursor in front of the number.
Type Running head: TITLE and add spaces to position to the flush left position. (Up to 52 charas.)
Highlight both the title and page number; then, click on the Home ribbon and format font type and size:
Times New Roman and 12 pt are standard.
NOTE: You may have some spacing problems at this point. Don’t panic. Add and delete spaces until your title is justified LEFT and your page number is justified RIGHT.
Move to page 2
CNTRL + ENTER creates second page.
Remove the words “Running head:”
ADDING TITLE
Back to Page 1/Title Page
Format the document:
TIMES NEW ROMAN
12 PT
DOUBLE SPACING
And under LINE SPACING OPTIONS (under Paragraph), tick the box that says “Don’t add spaces between paragraphs of the same style.”
Space down 8 times (for 16 lines)
Justify CENTER
Type title in upper and lower case
Type name
Type School
ADDING AUTHOR’S NOTE
Space down about 10 times
Type Author’s Note
Justify LEFT
Tab in once
Type note: This paper was prepared for class, taught by teacher, and submitted on date.
SAVE TO DESKTOP AND GOOGLE DRIVE
File/SAVE AS to your desktop
Open Google Drive and drag to the appropriate folder
OR click Upload button and select file from Desktop.
