In our classroom during work time, students have the choice of their seating preference based on their learning preferences and what makes them feel the most comfortable! I believe in creating an engaging and flexible work environment!

What choices are there?

For students who prefer to stand while learning, we have a hightop table where they can stand and complete their work.

For students who prefer to sit on the floor or near the ground, we have 4 mini yoga ball seats, 6 floor seat cushions, and 3 movable floor reclining seats.

For students who prefer to have some movement while they are working, we have 3 yoga balls, 6 scoop rocker chairs, and the 4 mini yoga ball seats can be used for this as well.

For students who prefer a comfortable and adaptable seating choice, we have 6 beanbags and 3 saucer chairs.

For students who prefer to stay at their desk/traditional seat, they each have their own desk and chair for their comfort as well.

Student Expectations for Using Flexible Seating:

During the first few weeks of school, we will learn how to responsibly use the flexible seating choices in our room! We will learn about the expectation of responsibly completing our work while simultaneously using the flexible seating choices!
