Hello MSE Choir Students!
MSE Show Choir is our 7th & 8th grade select choir. This ensemble is an extracurricular commitment and rehearses Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm. Show Choir learns more challenging music and is designed to help prepare you to audition for select choir in high school. Typically, at least one song in each concert features choreography, but no dance experience is required. In addition to the Winter and Spring Concerts, Show Choir typically also performs for Veterans Day, the annual Music League Chicken Dinner, and at various sports games and/or community events.
AUDITIONS: Auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 13th. Please use the QR code or Sign-Up Link (BELOW) to choose a time slot. If you have a scheduling conflict, please email me at kleibensperger@boyertownasd.org and I will try my best to make other arrangements with you.
Please plan to arrive ten minutes before your audition time. Auditions will be held in Room 423 (NOT the chorus room), which is closer to Door #17. Drivers can drop singers off at Door #17, park in the spaces just outside that door, and wait until your student is finished.

Prepare: "Laus Deo" and "The Star-Spangled Banner" - practice tracks are posted in Google Classroom. Please make sure to practice and come prepared to your audition! I will score each singer based on the following criteria: tone quality, pitch accuracy, rhythmic accuracy, intonation (tuning), and technique. I will announce the list before the end of the school year via email and Google Classroom, so please be on the lookout after auditions are over.
In order to be chosen for Show Choir, you must be enrolled in Chorus for next year. *If you need to change your music registration form, please contact your counselor or me at kleibensperger@boyertownasd.org so that we can add Chorus to your schedule.
Looking forward to a fun year of singing together!
Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed
at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched
were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare,
the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
that our flag was still there,
Oh, say, does that
Star-Spangled Banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free,
and the home of the brave?
