In addition to teaching music, I enjoy remaining active as a professional singer and performer. Some of my favorite roles include Marian the librarian in The Music Man, Nellie Forbush in South Pacific in Concert, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes, and Rapunzel in Sondheim's Into the Woods. I have performed as a soprano soloist with many choirs in Philadelphia, Reading, and South Jersey, and I have been Director of Children's Music and Soprano Section Leader at several churches in the Philadelphia region over the years.
As a student, I enjoyed double-majoring and singing in many of Temple University's choirs, a cappella choirs, and operas. I was also a member of the Temple Honors Program, studied French, Italian, and German, and received several voice scholarships/awards from Temple University. In high school, I was selected to sing in PMEA All-State Chorus (twice), Region V Chorus, District 10 Chorus, Berks County Chorus, Berks Jr. County Chorus, and Berks Youth Chorus (formerly Berks Classical Children's Chorus). I received voice scholarships/awards from Reading Symphony Orchestra, Atonement Bach Competition, Reading Musical Foundation, and the National Penn Investors Trust Hughes Foundation. I played mallet percussion in marching band, took guitar lessons, sang in select choir and in a female barbershop quartet, acted in the fall plays and spring musicals, competed in Science Olympiad, and was Co-President of German Club.
In addition to my love of music, I enjoy walking outside, traveling, playing games, plants and gardening, and spending time with family and friends. I live in the Methacton area with my husband, Peter, and our two spoiled cats.
