The First Robotics Competition (FRC) is a yearly robotics competition. FRC combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Teams of about 25 students or more are challenged to construct a robot with strict rules, limited resources, and time limits. Each year, teams raise funds, define a brand, hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform specific tasks against a team of competitors. It’s as close to "real-world engineering" as a student can get by getting advice from professionals who volunteer to mentor and guide each team.
