Upcoming Community Activities:
June 22nd to 26th, 2026 - Team 686 Robotics team will conduct a Middle School level STEM VEX IQ Camp at Mount St. Mary's University Frederick Campus. Five day STEM sessions with each day from 4pm to 6pm.
Team 686 robotics student members will be leading this STEM Camp. Students in grades 6 to 8 will learn STEM principles to build, control, and operate VEX IQ Robots. The program includes introduction to VEX IQ robots, build a drivetrain and basic robots. Students will have the opportunities to work with the VEX IQ various sensors, teamwork, problem solving capstone, and a fun robotics competition. On June 5th (Thursday) 2025, Team 686 will be hosting a special celebration event to mark the 25 years at Mount St. Mary's University Frederick Campus

Team 686 Bovine Intervention conducted a VEX IQ Robotics Summer STEM Camp geared to Middle School students

August 11 and 15, 2025 - Three Cooperate Visits and Robotics Presentations
During the two days, Team 686 Robotics visited IMPRO Technologies, DRS Leonardo, and Phoenix Mecano. The team provided a Team 686 technical presentation on the 2025 season and demonstrated the team's robot and it's capabilities.
September 19, 2025 - FCPS STEM Tent at the Great Frederick Fair 1pm to 4pm
Team 686 will have an information and display table with an interactive robot activity. Note: This will on a Friday and FCPS will have a reduced school schedule so students can participate at the FCPS Fair Day events.
November 1, 2025 - Maryland STEM Festival at the Carrol Creek Amphitheater, Frederick

November 6, 2025 - 16th Annual FDA/FITCI Tech Showcase (5 - 7:30pm)
The Fort Detrick Alliance (FDA) and Frederick Innovation Technology Center Inc. (FITCI) Event held at the FITCI EDGE Center in Frederick. Team 686 will have an information and display table at the event, hear from panel discussions, and tour the various STEM start-up companies.
