BOUNDARY OAK CODE OF CONDUCT – SKI TRIP 2024
(As per what has been sent to and signed by parents ahead of the trip.)
Any damage which may occur due to a pupil’s misbehaviour or carelessness - whether to a person or property – whilst on the trip - will be paid for by parents.
Any loss of personal effects or money by a pupil on the trip will be due to their negligence, therefore pupils are to follow the reasonable steps outlined by staff, to ensure the safety thereof:
IE: keep money / personal effects close to their person and out of sight in public / handed in to staff overnight
no purchasing or consumption of alcohol/ cigarettes/ drugs/ vaping/ Red Bull/ Monster drinks/ knives or 'the like' is permissible, under any circumstances.
No warnings will be given on the trip; failure to comply with the above will action an immediate request that the pupil be collected at the parents' expense and at their inconvenience in relation to organisation of the pick up - within 24hrs of being informed by Dr Silvester.
Chewing gum is only permissible in the hotel common room.
No pupil is ALLOWED in any other dorm rooms other than their own. The communal area is for socialising.
IE: Strictly NO boys on girls' floor / or vice versa. Any infringement of this rule will result in . A SINGLE WARNING and the next day's activity will be missed.
Repeat offences will result in the child having to be collected at the parents' expense and at their inconvenience in relation to organisation of the pick up - within 24hrs of being informed by Dr Silvester.
should a pupil’s behaviour be deemed unsafe or inappropriate by Dr S Silvester (Leader of the party), for any other reason whilst on the trip, parents will be responsible for organising the collection of the pupil from any location at their own expense.
A pupil’s luggage must comply with British Airways regulations. Pupils must check luggage with parents to check weight of hold luggage is no more than 23kgs and hand luggage meets the dimensions of 40x 30 x15cm.
Strictly 100ml of liquid is the maximum allowed in hand luggage - this includes yoghurts, drinks
and creams.
A pupil’s luggage must be checked with a parent immediately before meeting for departure - no
restricted or prohibited items must be carried. This includes 'no nuts' snacks / energy drinks / vapes
etc in line with school policy.
ALL MEDICINES (prescription / non-prescription) must be handed to the ski group leader immediately on arrival for departure and a completed and signed ‘Pupil Medicine’ form must accompany this.
PLEASE NOTE: Medication can only be administered by the school if it is in-date, labelled with a pharmacy label and provided in the original container with instructions for administration, dosage and storage.
THIS INCLUDES: daily medication / specific medication as prescribed by a medical practitioner, travel sick medication, vitamins, eye / ear drops, specific skin cream (eg: for eczema / muscle rub), throat lozenges or glucose tablets ('sweets').
The ski party will carry Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Cetirizine, antiseptic cream, throat lozenges and E45
cream – pupils need not duplicate these.
Prior to departure, the party leaders reserve the right to prohibit pupils from attending the ski tour, if they are involved in serious misbehaviour at school.
Whilst abroad, serious misbehaviour will result in being sent back to England - parents will be liable for costs. Infringements includes drinking alcoholic beverages, smoking, purchasing of knives, fireworks or other offensive weapons or any behaviour that we deem to be extremely inappropriate or endangering other party members.
All hotel areas must be treated with respect.
Always stay in groups of at least 3 for safety
Members of the opposite sex are not permitted in each other’s rooms
Instructions by school staff and ski instructors must be always be followed without question / delay
Pupils must always behave sensibly
Pupils must stay in their instruction groups when on the mountain. Pupils must not leave a ski lesson without the permission of a member of staff
No pupil may ski without the direct supervision of an instructor
Put your litter in the bin or take it back to the hotel
No earphones, music or phones on slopes
DISPOSABLE cameras allowed for ‘downtimes’ on slopes – NOT ALLOWED to interfere with lessons (Staff will take photos)
Pupils must behave in a respectful manner to their instructor and members of the public.
Failure to behave appropriately may result in the removal of ski pass e.g. in cases where pupils may endanger themselves or others. If this is the case, the child will remain at the resort with a staff member for the day.
