We breathe all the time...but when we focus on our breath we can change the way we feel and even increase our focus and attention.
Deep breathing draws in more oxygen, helping you relax your body and mind.
Try this: Choose a quiet spot to sit. Breathe in while silently counting to three, then breathe out for three (families can offer to count for students to be helpful).
Repeat at least three times until you get the hang of it...
Then ask yourself...How do you feel after the deep breaths? Are you more relaxed? Can you feel a difference in your heart beat?
Work deep breathing sessions into your daily routine, they can be done at any time! In the car, walking around town, after teeth brushing in the morning or at bedtime. This exercise can help help you study, and keep you relaxed whether they are at home or school. And nobody will know they are doing it!
