Chris is a high school English Language Arts teacher at the John D O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, a Boston Public school. Over the past decade he has implemented a school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports system, designed project-based curriculum that connects students with arts and public and private organizations around the city, and advocated for and implemented inclusion curriculum for students with IEPs.
Chris earned a B.A. in English from Hamline University, a MEd through the Boston Teacher Residency Program and the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a PhD in literature from the University at Buffalo. He is a National Board Certified Teacher.
Chris has 18 years of teaching experience.

Katherine is currently the Senior Academy Team Leader at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School, a Boston Public school. Prior to this leadership position, Katherine was an English teacher at the Burke for 15 years. In addition to her current role, Katherine works as a part-time New Teacher Developer and leads workshops around designing and implementing project-based learning experiences with her long-time friend and colleague, Chris Madson.
Katherine earned a B.A. in English and Sociology from Fairfield University, a M.Ed. from Boston College and an Ed.D in educational leadership from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is a National Board Certified Teacher.
Katherine has 15 years of teaching experience.
Katherine Petta and Chris Madson have been dabbling in Project Based Learning since 2016.
Chris and Katherine have co-designed and co-taught curriculum and teacher trainings since 2012.
