For this week's update, I am humbled, honored, and privileged to share the letter included below from our Board of Education President, Mrs. Irene LeFebvre. I am grateful to the Board of Education for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve our district and for the incredible support provided by our learning community and district team throughout this past year. To: Parents and Guardians, Community Members, Friends of Boonton Schools
It is with great pleasure that I announce that at the Monday, May 8th meeting the Board of Education appointed Thomas Valle as Superintendent of Boonton Public Schools with a multi-year contract.
One year ago when appointing an interim leader for our district we felt strongly that Mr. Valle was our best choice; that he was the candidate who could effectively lead the district. With your support and input we have had an amazingly productive year!
Mr. Valle's professionalism and his collaborative leadership style has earned him the unanimous support of the board in this long term appointment.
We believe that Mr. Valle has done an excellent job of setting the district on a path that focuses on the academic, social, and emotional needs of our amazing students, as well as our dedicated staff, our committed parents and our supportive community.
I hope you are pleased with this news, and that, as we close out this academic year and move into the 23-24 school year, we can all offer Mr. Valle both congratulations and support.

Congratulations to Brett Giordano who was recognized as an exceptional leader within our community at the Morris County Middle School Leadership Awards! Brett joined peers from throughout the county at a banquet on May 10. Brett excels in the classroom, in numerous athletic environments, and throughout the community. He is specifically involved in serving our schools as a volunteer at our before and after care programs, as a member of the JHS Students for Change Organization and Yearbook Club, and through his participation in an eco-citizenship gifted and talented project. We are very proud of you, Brett, and especially grateful for the positive example and impacts you provide!
It is a privilege to announce that Julie Rogers has been selected as our ACME Staff Member of the Month! Ms. Rogers contributes to the Boonton Public School community as an art teacher and gifted and talented teacher at John Hill School. She has been instrumental in leading new G&T initiatives this school year and students have been recognized for the display of their talents at the county level under Ms. Roger's guidance and mentorship. In addition, Ms. Rogers is a highly involved staff member in activities that occur outside of the classroom - most recently as director of Shrek the Musical Jr. which was impressively performed last week. In ways seen (such as the student-constructed murals that adorn JHS halls) and unseen, Ms. Rogers' impact as a highly dedicated educator is of tremendous benefit to our students and community!
