Update: Due to concern over COVID-19 (also called novel coronavirus) in New Jersey, Kean University is rescheduling the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling (NJACAC) Regional College Fair originally planned for Wednesday, March 11, 2020 to Friday, May 15, 2020. The times will remain from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
For 11th grade:
- College Planning: Counselors have been meeting individually with students for college planning. Each student was provided with a checklist of to-do items and reminders in order to be on track for SAT/ACT testing and college applications. A copy of this checklist will also be emailed to each student from the counseling office.
- April 1st the junior class will be attending the Northern New Jersey College Fair at the Meadowlands Expo Center. You can only attend if you have your Emergency Contact Form completed with the nurse's office.
- We know it's early, but Common App just announced the essay prompts will remain the same for the fourth consecutive year!
- C2 Education in Denville: C2 Education is extending its free practice tests through March and April for students of BHS. They are offering BHS students who have already taken an official SAT or ACT a complimentary test analysis and college counseling session.
Students will have the opportunity to take practice tests for the SAT, SAT 2 Subject tests, ACT, or PSAT exam:
- Saturday March 7, 14, 21, and 28 Session 1: 9am-1pm or Session 2: 1pm-5pm.
- Saturday April 4, 11, 18, and 25 Session 1: 9am-1pm or Session 2: 1pm-5pm.

- Method Test Prep is offering ACT Prep Power Classes. These classes can help you review and practice strategies that can help you achieve a top score. - PricewaterhouseCoopers Accounting Careers Leadership Institute (PwCACLI): Follow this link to access the official program brochure and application. Please note that space is limited. The priority application deadline is set for Friday, March 27, 2020. It is hosted on Bryant University’s beautiful campus in Smithfield, RI from July 12 to July 17, 2020.
- Educational week-long, hands-on opportunity for students who identify as African American/Black, Latinx, or Native American rising high school seniors (current juniors) to learn more about the accounting profession.
- Program participants will:
- Understand the role of accountants
- Spend a day at PwC offices in Boston and meet with business professionals to learn firsthand about daily operations
- Experience college life by living in a residence hall and utilizing resources at Bryant
- Except for transportation (to and from Bryant University), there is no fee to participate in the program. The program will provide overnight accommodations, meals, planned activities, and educational materials.
- To apply, students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and completed at least Algebra 2 by the end of junior year.
- Boston University Summer Journalism Institute: Open to all aspiring photographers and journalists in high school. Students will learn core journalism skills plus multimedia techniques through a mix of instruction, activities, and practical application.
