The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school, district, or state in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.

The Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition by BCS for graduating with a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, listening and writing in one or more
languages in addition to English. See THIS INFOGRAPHIC for more information regarding the benefits of the Seal of Biliteracy!
In what languages will the Seal be available?
Testing for the Seal will be available in the following languages in Boone County: American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian,
Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
When should students apply?
The application will be open from: January 13 through January 26
What are the Seal of Biliteracy Requirements?
Any Senior Student is eligible for the Seal of Biliteracy. To obtain the Seal of Biliteracy, students must demonstrate proficiency in EACH of the three
areas below:
