Meet Ms. Castañeda

Hello! My name is Andrea Castañeda. The 2021-2022 school year marks my first year as Program Specialist for Bonita Unified School District. I previously taught at Lone Hill Middle School, where I served as an Education Specialist.

I attended California State University, Los Angeles and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders in 2015. In 2019, I received my Master's Degree in Special Education from Azusa Pacific University.

Prior to teaching, I worked for the district as a Special Education Instructional Aide II. I have been trained in Applied Behavior Analysis and have also worked as a Behavior Technician, Social Skills Specialist and Job Coach for a non-profit organization that serves children and adults with special needs. I am fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language.

I am a teacher by day and a mother 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to my two daughters. I am a Disneyland enthusiast. I come from a lineage of educators. I enjoy watching football, reading and watching documentaries. I am an advocate for children and adults with special needs. I have participated in events, volunteered, donated and raised funds for programs that offer social, recreational and educational services for the special needs population. Raising awareness for children and adults with special needs is my passion and mission in life.
