Membership
Membership Eligibility
A student is eligible for membership based on his or her grades from the prior semester. The student must earn 10 academic points each semester:
An “A” counts as 3 points, a “B” counts as 1 point, and a "C" counts as 0 points.
An “A” or “B” in an AP, IB, of Honors course earns 1 additional CSF point, with a maximum of 2 such points per semester.
A grade of “D” or “F”, or a citizenship mark of “N” or “U” disqualifies a student for the current semester.
Only 5 classes total can be used to qualify.
The student must apply for membership for every semester that he or she is eligible.
Levels of Membership
There are 3 levels of membership for which to strive:
LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Life Membership is earned by being a CSF member at least four of the last six semesters before graduation; one semester of membership must be earned in the senior year (Fall or Spring). If regalia is earned, life members wear a gold tassel at graduation.
100% MEMBERSHIP
100% Membership is earned by being a CSF member all six of the last six semesters of high school. If regalia is earned, 100% members wear a gold tassel and a gold cord at graduation.
EXEMPLARY MEMBERSHIP
Exemplary Membership is earned by being a CSF member all eight semesters in high school. Exemplary membership is the only category where 9th grade semesters count. If regalia is earned, exemplary members wear a gold tassel and a gold stole at graduation.
Earning Regalia
To earn tassels, cords and stoles for graduation, the student must earn 25 service points for every semester he or she is a CSF member. Earning service points is not a membership requirement, but it is a requirement for graduation regalia.
