This year was the 27th year that Golden Sierra participated in WES. This year, 21 kids from our school applied and were accepted to the program. Together with students from Union Mine, El Dorado, Ponderosa, and Foresthill High Schools, they spent four days camping, doing watershed monitoring work, and learning alongside teachers and professionals from the Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife, US Geological Survey, and more! WES is coordinated and sponsored by the Georgetown Divide/ El Dorado Resource Conservation District. Visit this website to learn more and watch videos about the program.
