Movements hold the power to challenge the status quo, by rallying people around shared values that mobilise them to come together, and to effectively translate these values into action. As such, one core leadership practice is the ability to be able to “tell and influence” so as to mobilise others to come join us. And story is one powerful way of sharing who we are and why we care, igniting the communal imagination as to why we should be in this together, and mobilising the energy towards meaningful and strategic action.
In this session, you will get to hear from Dr. Chen Shiling and her story of how she effectively leverages narrative to advocate on behalf of the intellectually disabled community. You will also be able to gather with other like-minded explorers to discuss what works for you in your own practice of ‘tell and influence’.
Who should come:
Join us to if you would like to explore a set of leadership practices that can empower movements for health.
Join us if you have ways in which you effectively ‘tell and influence’ on behalf of a cause you care about? How do you do this?
Join us if you like to contribute your own personal experiences, as we celebrate the times when we successfully enrolled someone to stand alongside a cause that matters to us. Together, we'll analyze these examples, unravel the underlying strategies, and uncover the key ingredients that made them work.
NOTE: Please note that slots are limited, and a confirmation will be sent to those who have secured a seat.
