Current Projects

Currently, I have three US National Science Foundation research grant awards. The first, Mapping Change funded by IUSE–Improving Undergraduate STEM Education–is in its final year, ending in September. The second, a project focusing on Arctic climate change, began in January, 2022. This 5-year, international and interdisciplinary project is funded by the Navigating the New Arctic program, one of NSF’s 10 big ideas. The third project is an EArly concept Grant for Exploratory Research (EAGER) recently funded by the Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace program, and is a collaboration with Dr. Kendall House and Dr. Jerry Fails (Computer Science). Our concept, Evolutionary Insights into Digital Ecologies of Fear will bring together evolutionary anthropology, user research, and human-computer interaction research. I am also a contributing research fellow on the ENDOW project which is a 50+ site, comparative project looking at the role of social networks in the origins of wealth inequality.
