Art Submission Guidelines

High school student writers and artists from the Boise School District are invited to submit their best work for publication in Valley Visions, the district-wide, high school literary/visual arts magazine. A publication celebration of the magazine will take place in the spring with a reading/art display in a gallery venue to which family, friends, and community members will be invited.

WHO MAY ENTER: Any high school student in the Boise School District 10th-12th

WHAT MAY BE ENTERED:  You don’t have to submit a separate consent form. However, you, not the Awards, are responsible for getting any necessary consents or releases from people or for any places or property depicted in your work. By entering work to the Awards, you certify that the work is yours and does not infringe on anyone else’s intellectual property rights.

Writing: Literature entries may be works of fiction or nonfiction in prose or poetry. See your English teacher for information or visit tinyurl.com/valleyvisions

Artwork: Color digital images of visual artwork will be accepted.

Uploaded images should have a print resolution of 300dpi and the file size should be around 3MB–5MB. If you are unable to provide your file at “Excellent” print quality then upload the best quality you have.

Topic/subject matter: No set subject matter, yet, please use your best judgment when submitting

pieces; this is a school district publication and images should be school appropriate material.

HOW MANY SUBMISSIONS MAY BE ENTERED: Authors and Artists are limited to their best

two (2) pieces of art and (2) pieces of literature. Be sure to use a Literature Entry Form if you are submitting a literature entry.
