The AVID elective serves to support its students through an emphasis on WICOR curricular strategies, which include writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading.
By reinforcing study and organizational skills, and encouraging students to take more rigorous and challenging classes, the program seeks to ultimately prepare them for success at a college or university.
AVID 8 continues to build on the systems learned in the AVID 7 elective class. Students will start to prepare for success with standardized testing by participating in the ASPIRE test as well as preparing for higher-level writing activities.
