Highly Gifted Program Description

The Highly Gifted program follows the Idaho Core curriculum, accelerating as needed and providing more depth and rigor. The curriculum may be several years beyond the assigned grade level. Emphasis is placed on the Boise School District gifted framework: creativity, leadership, problem solving, research, and social-emotional needs.

Students who have a qualifying IQ score (full scale IQ of 133 or above) and superior achievement scores are invited to apply for placement in the Highly Gifted Program. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee that considers teacher and parent input, test scores, and the unmet needs of the student.

Boise School District students who attend Boise Schools Highly Gifted Program are eligible for transportation from a regional pick up site.

The Highly Gifted Program is located at Collister Elementary School, 4426 W. Catalpa Dr., Boise, ID 83703.

Please note applicants are NOT guaranteed placement as there are usually more applicants than spaces available.
