Welcome to the Boise High Volleyball Summer Information Page. This page serves as a central hub for all incoming 8th–12th grade players and their families to stay informed about opportunities to train and prepare for the upcoming season. Below, you will find details on spring open gyms, summer league tryouts, strength and conditioning programs, and fall tryout information.

Spring Open Gyms & Workouts

Boise High Volleyball offers open gyms and structured workouts during the spring to help players refine their skills and build confidence on the court. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity to get additional practice time and connect with coaches and teammates. The schedule is on the main page and can be found HERE.

Summer League Tryouts – May 19th

We hold a summer tryout for incoming 8th–12th grade players who would like to compete in high school summer tournaments. Participating in summer league is a valuable experience that allows athletes to train, play at a high level, and showcase their skills to the coaching staff. Players do not need to attend all tournaments, and can fill out on the google form which tournaments they would like to be considered for. Please note that participation in summer league does not guarantee a spot on a fall roster.

Summer Strength & Conditioning

To help athletes prepare for the demands of the high school season, Boise High Volleyball provides strength and conditioning workouts four days per week with OFF the Field. Location: Boise High Weight Room. These sessions focus on improving agility, strength, endurance, and injury prevention. OTF information

Fall Tryout Information

Official Boise High Volleyball tryouts will take place August 11th. Additional details, including dates, times, and requirements, will be located HERE Players should use spring and summer training opportunities to prepare for the competitive tryout process.

Boise Sports Physical Night: May 19th (same day as summer tryouts)

Players can attend tryouts and then head over to the tech gym to get their physical for the fall 2025 school year.

Who needs a physical?

Incoming 9th graders

Incoming 11th graders

10th or 12th graders that have not had a physical in the past year.

ALL PHYSICALS MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO TRYOUTS!

Location: Boise High School- Main gym

BE BRAVE -- May 27th, 28th, & 29th

Grades: Fall 2025 School Year
7th-8th grade
Time: 1-2:30
Cost: $150
Location: Hillside Junior High

Future BRAVE-- May 27th, 28th, & 29th

Incoming 9th grade
Time: 3:00-5:00pm

GMS Team CAMP -- June 9-12

Incoming 8th-12th grade
Invite only
8am-5pm

Location: Boise High School tech gym.
Grades: incoming 8th - 12th that are invited and attended the summer league tryout
Players will receive an email from Coach Newbery with the registration link. You do not pay Boise High for this camp.
Summer 2023-24 had current professional players, college and HS coaches run this camp!

Owyhee High School -- June 16-18

Location: Owyhee HS & Star Middle
Rosters will be announced following tryouts
Players will attend all three days
JV Tournament: play 9am-3pm

Ridgevue High School -- June 23-25 Tentative

Location: Ridgevue

Skyview High School -- June 30-July 1

Location: Skyview HS
Rosters will be announced following tryouts
2 Varsity and 2 JV teams
Players will attend both days

Columbia High School -- July 7, 8, 9

Location: Columbia HS
Rosters will be announced following tryouts
2 Varsity and 2 JV teams
Players will attend both days

Varsity Teams play 4pm-10pm
- Schedule will be posted HERE

**Transportation will not be provided for any of the local tournaments. Athletes are responsible for getting to and from the tournament.

Athletes who would like to participate in Summer events will need to attend the tryout.
Registration form filled out communicating with the coaching staff the tournaments they will be able to participate in.
Based upon availability and what the coaches want to see, each summer league team's roster will look different.

This does not take place of the fall tryout.ALL incoming athletes 9-12 who want to play for the 2024 Boise High program must tryout August 12th-14th.
