“Together we will develop respectful students, maximising their potential.”
As recognition of its total concern for its students, for the reputation of the school, and to ensure consistency of standards, the College adopts an “in loco parentis” role and thus the school rules apply from the time a student leaves home until they return home and in all school-related transport, excursions and activities. The rules are based firmly on a basic code of conduct that all members of the school community will show RESPECT.
Enrolment and continued attendance at Bay of Islands College is conditional on a student agreeing to the following:
This year I am going to keep track of your essential digital skills that you must be able to do while at BOIC (a chrome book school). All of these skills will be beneficial for you across your subjects along with specific digital skills required for individual subjects. As we live in a hugely digital world it is important that you can perform these skills so you become a digital citizen of the future and to help you in the present. Each form class I will randomly select you to come and show me the specific skills on the list and tick you off once they have been completed. Of course there will be an added incentive to completing the skills as well as being equipped with the digital knowledge!
Each week on a Friday in each term we are to track out attendance percentage for that week and you are to fill in your own graph for the week. This is to help you to visually keep track of how your attendance is going, as being present in class with effort is a recipe for achievement! Each term there will be an incentive for the top achievers of the class for attendance in the term...lets go!!
