Summary report
Subject reports
The summary report gives an overview of all subjects and is the main report
The subject report shows a more detailed breakdown of each subject and is helpful for unpicking areas of strength and for development
Pupil progress is our reporting platform. You will receive 2x reports every year which report on your
average attainment
independence and engagement
readiness to learn
In each of your subjects and from year 10 onwards, your predicted grades.
The design of the subject reports is created to remind you the components of your qualification and let you see how your efforts at home and in school are leading to success in the different areas. It also outlines where your weaker areas are so you can take ownership of your learning and drive your results forward in a focused way.
You will receive an email inviting you to pupil progress. This app allows us to:
share your child’s reports directly with you in all qualifications
show strengths and areas to improve.
have full transparency so you can see more detail about your child’s educational attainment and progress through their educational journey.
Please search for the app "pupil progress" in your apple or android app store looking for the image to the right. Students will have it installed via JAMF onto their iPads

This is the homescreen from which you can access a summary report and subject reports. The below image is for a GCSE homepage but the navigation will be the same.
The summary report will pull together all essential information ready for you to review at a glance
The subject reports clickable underneath show the data from which the summary information was derived and will include additional information including BET assessment results where applicable

By selecting “View summary” you will see a summary report. This may be the only part you interact with at this point since it holds the core information for each subject
Minimum target grade (MTGs)
MTGs have been set with four key principles in mind:
Attainable: Achievable with sustained effort over three years.
Ambitious: Our starting point with students is based on their attainment with nationally-validated Year 7 baseline data and what the top performing students with similar starting points achieved in their GCSEs.
Motivating: Aligned with students’ personal aspirations.
Useful: A tool to guide improvements as they work towards their goals.
It is worth noting that this is not a predicted grade or a limiting grade but will signpost to us and the student what foundations they should be working towards (& beyond!) and can be reviewed as we go through the course as more solid data becomes available. It may be different to what was there before since reviews have been happening with students this half term.
Predicted grade
Based on professional judgement, assessments visible on the reports and knowledge of the student gathered within lessons and moderation, the member of staff will project the student’s most likely trajectory towards a final grade when the qualification is completed. The closer to qualification completion we get, the easier this is to judge. A prediction is not a predetermined destination and the student can use the information within subject reports to examine where gains can be made if necessary.
Average unit grade
This averages assessments completed up until the point of report and again, is a grade that can change as we progress. It takes into account only work which has been assessed in the course and therefore until Year 11; it won’t take into account all aspects of a qualification but is a useful indicator for average attainment. Further information within subject reports can be used to examine the breakdown further.
Classcharts remains the location for ongoing updates about your child’s learning behaviours in school but please note when you receive a Pupil Progress report, you will also be given a summary of key learning characteristics namely
Readiness to learn
Independence and engagement
These are snapshots of learning behaviours that will support progress and success and are given a 1-5 rating as outlined in the table
This area of the app isn’t one that you’ll all want to delve into all the time. It is essentially opening up part of our markbooks so you can look in more detail at larger assessments that have been completed, primarily BET assessments. Please don’t feel obliged to look into this section, you may find the summary is enough for now but the information is here if you want to gain a deeper understanding of how the qualification is put together and where the assessments taken over the three years fit into this journey.
I would encourage you to explore the specifications for each subject hyperlinked in the titles of the “tips and tricks” document on the Bohunt Horsham Revises website. This provides a comprehensive overview of the qualification and will help you understand why each subject’s report looks different. . As we will do with the students in lessons, we recommend you build your understanding up over a period of time.
Unit Summary VIDEO
This section outlines the breakdown of the qualification, complementing the information shared through the options booklet and also on our “tips and tricks” document.
Familiarity with this section will help students understand where their current learning fits within the broader course.
Grades provided are based on data held within the unit breakdown sections
Sections with grades represent assessments that have been completed. You can expect to see blank sections, particularly early into the use of pupil progress/the course,
Topic Summary VIDEO (0.00min - 3.37min)
This section provides a percentage breakdown of performance in areas of the course covered so far. It helps pinpoint strengths and areas requiring additional focus. Teachers will use this as part of their classroom monitoring to give students opportunities to build upon areas needing this focus.
At this early stage, the unit data being used to populate this is based on assessments is from September 2024. The percentage can therefore be skewed so please approach any results with caution. For instance, a score of 100% might reflect a correct answer on a two-mark question on the thirty mark test they have done so far, while a 50% could indicate one correct answer out of two. Over time, as we accumulate assessments, this summary will become more representative but is being shared now to help you become familiar with the format.
We utilise Pupil Progress to pinpoint areas where students may need extra assistance. Following BET assessments, we will dedicate time for students to focus on their development during our “DIRT” tasks.
Some subjects include assessment objectives, or AOs, which describe the skills and actions needed to engage with the qualification. The BET assessments and classroom activities will help students practice these. More detailed descriptions can be found in the specifications, often highlighted in the mark schemes available on the exam board websites.
Average total marks and unit breakdown VIDEO (3.37min - end)
This section is where assessment marks and sometimes grades are made visible
Different subjects have different rhythms to the course and assess differently so you’ll see a variety of numbers/types of assessment in each subject report
BET assessment reporting will be consistent, happening twice a year, every year, and labelled with ‘BET’ in the title of the assessment. Reports will be added after marking and moderation has occurred so you can be updated with progress.
Next BET assessment fortnight is 21st April- 2nd May and will be based on all GCSE learning in each subject up until this point. Reports will be due around 5th June. It is worth noting the importance of these assessments, not only in supporting readiness for y11 but also for college applications that this cohort will want to start looking into in the first half term of y11 and will therefore provide the best evidence they have of future attainment. Reminder curriculum overviews can be found here and for students, GCSE revision resources via here
Any grades visible are by comparison to the latest national GCSE grade boundaries
Tests reported on here through y9-10 may represent a narrow breadth of the overall curriculum.. A scaling system is therefore used to indicate what the student might get if they had sat the full assessment. In year 11, we move away from BET assessments to full mocks allowing us to have more fully representative data
Any grades you see now should be viewed as indicative rather than definitive. Early results provide insights but should not lead to overconfidence or undue concern
As we progress through the course, these early assessments will serve as a guide to track your child's progress and help build towards readiness over the next three years. If there is a blank in the grades, it means the paper has either not yet been sat or marked. Please remember attendance data is visible on classcharts
