Water and Sustainability

5th meeting - Türkiye

The topic of the Turkish meeting: Sustainable water consumption at partner school in a wider community.

During the program, water, water consumption and water management were of paramount importance.

First, we got acquainted with the water management of a citrus farm. During our trip we observed the irrigation of field crops.

We visited Dam lake and the Ceyhan river. They are important resources for the climate and the tourism of Adana. We visited the Day group farm. They collect rainwater and they use it in the fields.

We went for a boat trip on the Mediterranean sea.

The sea is an important resource for Adana tourism and economy:

Some poems

Blue world

In a world of blue, so vast and grand,

We hold a future in our hand,

Let's save the water, clear and pure,

For Mother Earth, we must ensure.

Rivers flow, a lifeline true,

To creatures, plants, and me and you,

With every drop we wisely save,

We keep our planet safe and brave.

Turn off the taps, fix those leaks,

Conserve the water for future weeks,

Recycle, reuse, and let it be,

A world where water's flowing free.

So, kids of twelve, let's take a stand,

Protect the Earth, its every strand,

Preserve the water, save our home,

Together we can change and roam.

The Earth calling

Young students, hear the Earth's call,

To save water, one and all.

Turn off the taps, don't let them run,

In our hands, the change has begun.

Recycle, reuse, waste less, and see,

A planet saved for you and me.

With every small and thoughtful choice,

We'll make the Earth rejoice.

Erasmus

Erasmus projects, shining bright,

To save our world with all your might.

Connecting students, near and far,

You're the eco-friendly shooting star.

In teamwork and learning, we unite,

To save our planet, it's our right.

Erasmus, with your global hand,

You help us protect our precious land.

We discussed what we saw with our partners and compared it with the practice of our country. We continued to participate in programs related to water: Cappadocia where we observed erosive work of water.

The meeting in Turkey was the last stage of the project, so we focused on summing up. At the meeting , we summarized and analyzed the activities carried out during the project and their results. We identified areas where we have done outstanding work and which areas schools need to focus more on. Those have been summarized in a study plan, which hopefully teachers all countries will be able to use in water- related school lessons after adaptation. Teachers of the partner schools and two Italian students were present at the last meeting During the mobility, teachers carried out summary analysis activities. The result of the project can be used in the pedagogical processes of the institutions - after the appropriate adaptation - in the educational work. They are suitable for raising awareness and developing student’s knowledge related to water management.

Portugal students did a Powerpoint presentation about World Water day Celebration, a field trip to a water stream near their school where they did some water analysis, a Water Saving Campaign in their school, laboratory activities related with water, and about several exhibitions related with water.

Every time you look at your watch,
you remember the importance of water.
