As part of our study of East Africa, we learned about three important scientists who lived and worked there. Wangari Maathai was a biologist and environmentalist from Kenya; Jane Goodall became a primatologist in Tanzania; William Kamkwamba taught himself engineering as a teenager in Malawi.
