CSTEP Research Scholars provides BMCC students with the opportunity to participate in faculty-mentored research while developing research, professional, and presentation skills.
CSTEP Research Scholars provides BMCC students with the opportunity to participate in faculty-mentored research while developing research, professional, and presentation skills.
Through the program, students work with a faculty research mentor, participate in Office of Research workshops and activities, and gain hands-on experience as part of a research project.

CSTEP Research Scholars opportunities are available during the:

Program Commitment
Program Commitment
CSTEP Research Scholars are expected to participate throughout their program semester and complete required research and program activities.
Students may also be required to complete research-related orientations and safety training depending on their research placement.
Research Scholars Stipend
Research Scholars Stipend
Research Scholars receive a $1,500 stipend per semester, subject to completion of applicable program requirements and payment procedures.

In addition to working with their faculty research mentor, Research Scholars participate in Office of Research activities designed to support their academic, research, and professional development.

Eligibility
Eligibility
CSTEP Research Scholars is open to full-time BMCC students who are New York State residents and are interested in gaining faculty-mentored research experience.
To be eligible, students must:

Be currently enrolled full-time at BMCC
Be a New York State resident
Have a minimum 2.5 GPA
Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or international student
Have a faculty research mentor
Be able to meet the time and participation requirements of the program
Previous research experience is not required.
