The Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) provides eligible BMCC students with opportunities to explore research, develop academic and professional skills, and prepare for future educational and career opportunities.

CSTEP offers several opportunities for students at different stages of their academic and research experience.

Academic and professional development opportunities, including access to Kaplan All Access.
An introductory research experience designed to help students explore research and develop foundational research skills.
A more intensive research experience for students participating in faculty-mentored research.
Important: Students do not have to complete CSTEP Prep before participating in Research Explorers or Research Scholars. Each opportunity has its own eligibility requirements and application process.

CSTEP eligibility can vary depending on the specific opportunity.
CSTEP accepts NYS residents which includes U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and international students.
CSTEP students must be enrolled full-time and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Students should review the requirements for the specific CSTEP opportunity they are interested in before applying.
