All staff members and students are required to complete three action items before working in laboratory spaces:
Laboratory safety training
CITI Responsible Conduct of Research
Research Assistant Form
Failure to complete these three requirements will prevent you from getting started on your projects with your mentor.
Mandatory research orientation will be held every semester for our research program participants, and I will be hosting a laboratory safety training session then.
If your schedule does not allow for you to attend, or if you are a student conducting research outside of the established Office of Research programs, please schedule a time with me (in-person or remotely) to go through a one-on-one laboratory safety training.
After completing the training, please complete the laboratory safety training quiz: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfs0Nh5zV0ySkAddcBksEQBbKlbglppQgM6LIIPL6vWtd9Bgw/viewform

**** Failure to do so will not allow us to account for your completion of all pre-lab work materials and prevent you from working with your mentor in the laboratory spaces.
Student mentees do not have ID access to enter the lab. To gain entry, please have your supervisor, laboratory manager (S643), or Office of Research personnel (S636) unlock the door for you on a daily basis.
Students are required to work in the lab spaces WITH supervision: either your mentor or faculty/staff members must accompany you at all times. If this rule is not adhered to, any damages or accidentals in the space will be the responsibilty of you and your mentor.
That being said, Megan Wong (the lab manager) will be on campus during business hours and will be available via email (Megan.Wong05@login.cuny.edu) should students need oversight.
To request a meeting, schedule a time for laboratory safety training, or to speak with the laboratory manager at length for any reason, please email the Megan Wong at bmccresearchcore@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.
