The exclusion times listed below are the minimum days a child should remain out of school for a particular illness. The school will honor the private physician's recommendation for additional exclusion days.
Chicken Pox six days after outset of rash and/or until lesions are dry.
Physician's note is required.
Common Cold should pot attend school if student has a temperature.
Conjunctivitis (pink eye) until therapy has been instituted for 24 hours and discharge has ceased. Physician's note is required.
German Measles (Rubella) five days after appearance of rash. Physician's note is required.
Hepatitis Infection until end of febrile period and/or seven days following the onset of jaundice. Physician's note is required.
Impetigo until 24 hours after treatment begins. Physician's note is required. Area must be covered in school.
Measles (Rubeola) from onset of symptoms until rash and other symptoms are gone. May be five to ten days. Physician's note is required.
Meningitis, Meningococcal until note is received from physician stating patient is able to return.
Mononucleosis exclusion not necessary.
Mumps for acute illness and/or nine days after swelling appears.
Physician's note is required.
Ringworm Physician's note required. Area is to be covered in school.
Scabies until the day after treatment. Physician's note is required.
Streptococcal Infection: 24 hours after beginning of antibiotic therapy. Physician's
Sore throat, Scarlet Fever, note is required
Undiagnosed rash physician's note is required, stating patient is able to return to school.
