MEALTIME

MEAL TIME INFORMATION

Our class will enjoy Snack Time twice daily, morning and afternoon.  Please pack your child a two small snacks, as healthy as possible (fresh fruit, crackers, yogurt, etc.) along with a filled water bottle. Also, if your child needs any utensils or special materials for eating, please pack them as well. We will return them daily if they are reusable items. Our school provides napkins, but does not supply utensils or other materials for mealtime.  

Lunch Time will be at approximately 11:30.  Please send your child with a lunch each day.  If you choose to take advantage of the school lunch, please see information on the district website regarding cost, menu, and an application for free/reduced lunch.  

**Please note:  There is no refrigeration for food, nor will items be heated.  Please plan accordingly, and ensure lunch boxes are packed with ice if needed.  

All food that is unopened or not consumed will be sent home each day.  Please be sure to check entire backpack and lunch bag for food and replace items for the next day.  

We strongly encourage REUSABLE water bottles, and discourage juice boxes. We have a brand new filtered water system that the children can use to fill up their water bottles as needed throughout their day. 

Please do your best to utilize a reusable lunch bag. Not only is it great for the environment, but it is much easier for our little ones to carry to and from their backpacks. We are always looking for ways to encourage independence among our students!

Fridays will be "FRUIT FRIDAY". Please do your best to send in a fresh fruit for your child for a snack. 

**Peanut FREE Classroom**

Our classroom is a PEANUT FREE classroom.  We are asking your help to provide students in your child’s classroom who have a life-threatening reaction to peanuts with a safe school environment. 

Any exposure to peanuts may cause a life-threatening allergic reaction that requires emergency medical treatment. To reduce the chance of this occurring, we are asking that you do not send any items containing peanuts to school with your child for a snack.  

We appreciate your support of these procedures. Please complete the bottom and return it to school so we are certain that you have received this information.  Please contact me if you have any questions.
