Lindsey Nowak

My name is Lindsey Nowak and this is my 21st year working here at Bear Lake Schools. I started as an aide in the elementary school and took over as the daycare director/preschool teacher back in 2008. So one can say that I am fully invested in being a Laker. 

Back in the beginning of  2017 when talk was circulating about starting our own football team, I made the comment that we should bring cheerleading back as it’s not football without cheerleaders. Before I knew it I was being asked when I wanted my practices to start. I was a little confused, practice for what???? You're the cheer coach, right?? Umm, I guess so, lol. That’s what I get for opening my mouth and now we are just about to finish our 9th season. 

I cheered all 4 years of my high school career, sideline and competitive plus some in middle school so I did come with a little bit of background knowledge. I had a great coach, Coach Pant, she left a lasting impression on me, one that I hope to leave on my girls. That’s why I coach. I coach for these girls. To see and feel their excitement when they accomplish their goals. I want them to practice hard, understand the importance of teamwork, compassion, dedication, responsibility, discipline, (self discipline, how to set and achieve those personal goals), but most importantly I want them to have fun. I want them to bond and feel like they are part of something, that they matter. When I can no longer do those things, then I’ll stop coaching. Until then, from August through October you can find me on sidelines, cheering on our LAKERS!!!
