Brief Description of the technology class
Students in 6th grade will take the Technology class for 1 quarter (10 weeks) and will engage in some or all of the following activities.
LEGO Robotics using either the NXT or the EV3 platform
engage in various robotics challenges
Design & fabricate a Paper Tower and compete to see what team can build the tallest free standing tower.
Design & fabricate a small Catapult
Design & Fabricate a Gravity powered car
Learn how to use LEGO digital designer to create a building with simulated solar panels, living roof, wind power generator, geothermal heating & cooling, fossil fuel electrical generating power plants and solar passive design elements
Students will sharpen their problem solving & critical thinking skills
Students will learn to work independently & in small groups
Students will apply their knowledge of Math & science
