Dyslexia is a common, neurobiological learning disability affecting reading and spelling, stemming from difficulties with phonological processing (sounds in language) despite normal intelligence and good teaching. It's a lifelong condition, not a sign of low intelligence, characterized by struggles with fluent word recognition, decoding, and spelling, often leading to issues with comprehension, vocabulary, and organization.
Every year Oklahoma certified staff and administration have to partake in Dyslexia training and have available resources for Dyslexia for themselves, parents, and students. Below, you will find available dyslexia resources for teachers, students, and parents.
*Every certified teacher and admin must complete the Dyslexia traning on the Vector Website.
