Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance

Careers education, information, advice and guidance are excellent. Leaders ensure that pupils and students challenge gender stereotypes in the workplace. For example, pupils are encouraged to consider aspirational careers in professions related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. (Ofsted 2020)

CEIAG

At Archbishop Blanch our ACE & CORE Curriculum supports our students to access an engaging and relevant careers education which is underpinned by the eight Gatsby Benchmarks. The CEIAG content with in students ACE & CORE curriculum covers a wide range of activities including careers education and guidance, enterprise activities as well as whole school and specific year group events. Our comprehensive careers programme is aimed at enhancing employability through a variety of opportunities for students including valuable contact experiences with different employers and organisations through our 'Meet the Professional' provision. All students at Archbishop Blanch receive careers education lessons focusing on helping them to use the knowledge and skills they develop to make successful transitions into the world of work.

The Eight Gatsby Benchmarks

Every young person at Archbishop Blanch receives high-quality career guidance linked to the eight Gatsby Benchmarks. These benchmarks are seen as the best practice in careers education and they set out what good careers guidance should look like, forming a framework to support our young people to make informed decisions about their future. Good career guidance is a necessity for social mobility and those young people in our care without significant social capital or home support to draw upon have the most to gain from high-quality career guidance.
