Persuasive Writing - Therapy Dogs In Class - aka Miss Frankie
As a class Room Two have been presented with a bit of a challenge when it comes to being allowed to have our Room Two Therapy Dog.
It has come to my attention that a parent complained to Miss Smith and said 'The school has a sign stating dogs are not allowed on the school grounds.' As a class we are going to write a persuasive argument as to why Frankie should be allowed to be 'our' class and school dog.
To write a convincing persuasive letter to Miss Smith, The Board of Trustees and wider community the writer needs to be concise, direct and factual. We can also use our creative language devices to lull our readers in and persuade them to take our side!
To structure a great persuasive argument it is useful to follow 'AFOREST' format to structure your argument.

Fairy tales are written in the narrative genre:

Traditional Fairy Tales also includes these conventions:
Happen in a vague time and place (Once upon a time, Deep in the forest, etc.)
Focus on the appearance of characters to reveal their true nature (Beauty = goodness)
Show powerful emotions such as jealousy, greed, love, hate and fearMay include magical creatures
Feature low-status females rescued by high-status males (Prince)Have a happy ending.

Task 3 During the last couple of weeks of lockdown you were asked to design 10 questions and interview people ready to write a newspaper report. You now need to write a newspaper report and present it as one (think about using something other than google for this)
