The Kearney Health Opportunities Program (KHOP) is a cooperative program between the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The purpose of the program is to recruit and educate students from rural Nebraska who are committed to returning to rural Nebraska to practice healthcare. This program represents a commitment and dedication to the education of Nebraskans and quality health care for citizens of the state.

• Follow a special curriculum and participate in professional development activities at UNK that will prepare them for their healthcare program at UNMC.

Students admitted into the RHOP program must be from a rural background. The purpose of the program is to recruit and educate students from rural communities who plan to return to rural areas to practice. It represents a commitment and dedication to quality health care for the citizens of the state.

Benefits of the Program
If selected as a participant in the program each student will:
Receive a full tuition waiver while enrolled at Peru State, provided the student maintains good standing within the RHOP program standards.
Be given acceptance to the UNMC after their completion of PSC pre-professional curriculum.
Follow a special curriculum at Peru State that will prepare the student for studies at UNMC.
Have recognition of their desire to become a health care professional.
