ADMISSIONS POLICY


Application process:

For students enrolling from Pre- Primary to Grade 10 Admission forms are available at the School office.

The following process needs to be completed:

  • Procure the prospectus from the school

  • Fill in the Registration Form

  • Registration fee of INR 1,000/- (per child) .


Criteria:

Pre-primary and Primary:

There are no written entrance tests for the Pre-primary and the Primary section. For this age group an extensive interview by the respective coordinator along with the Head of the school along with parents to evaluate the child’s prior knowledge and school readiness.It is earnest attempt to understand the child and his /her ethnic, cultural or social strata.

The idea is not to acknowledge the differences as chasms in the student community, but to understand the sociology-cultural ethos the child represents so that the facilitation can be modeled in such a way that is conducive to the child's growth and progress. The admission is offered when there is a vacancy available.

Middle School:

The eligibility for admission into Middle years is as follows:

Students should have successfully completed their Grade 5.

Students of MYP have to fill in a questionnaire (attached to the application form) followed by a personal interview with the respective Coordinator and Head of School.

Admissions for Grade 6 onwards will have an assessment for English ,Math and Foreign languages.The duration of the entrance test for English,Math and Foreign languages will be for 2 hours and 30 minutes followed by a personal interview with the student conducted by the respective Coordinator and Head of School in English which may take between 30 and 60 minutes.

The Admissions Head will inform the parent of the interview details and the Assessment result within 3 working days.

Process after confirmation of the Admission:

Upon confirmation of admission at BIS, payment of admissions fee and security deposit within the stipulated time is to be completed as mentioned by the admissions department.


Documentation: Post admission

The following documents are required along with the Admission Form:

  • For student:

  • Birth Certificate photocopy - self attested (Original will be required for verification)

  • Passport photocopy - self attested (Original will be required for verification)

  • Photocopy of Visa and FRRO (for international students only)

  • Aadhar Card photocopy - self attested (Original will be required for verification) - If not available kindly apply and submit on acquisition.

  • Recent photographs of the student - 6 passport size

  • Medical and vaccination record details

  • Blood Group details

  • Last two years of academic report (Grade 2 and above)

  • Certificate of Merit (if any)

  • Transfer Certificate (T.C) or previous school leaving certificate

For Parent:

  • 2 passport size photographs of each parent

  • Photocopies of passport, Visa, FRRO (for international passport holders only)

  • Copy of proof of residence in India

  • Confidential letter of recommendation, from students previous school principal/counselor or teacher. ( For Grade 8 and above students)

  • Transport request form

  • Pan card of at least one parent

Age criteria for application of admission

For admission in BLISS International School, Hinjawadi, Pune we normally expect the child to be within the age group mentioned against the Grade in the following table, as on 1st July, of that academic year. The age mentioned may be relaxed at the discretion of the School Admission Committee based on past academic achievement and performance in our testing procedures, provided the student has graduated from a recognized school.
