What is the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)?
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an inclusive and transdisciplinary curriculum framework where learning is not confined within the boundaries of traditional subject areas but is supported and enriched by them for the students aged 3 to 12 years. The programme lays ample emphasis on appropriate development phases in each learner. This approach seeks to develop each individual’s learning through consolidation and linking of prior knowledge with new observations and facts, and encourages children in becoming active, compassionate, lifelong learners with an open and international minded thinking reflected through a global mindset. Assessments
Assessments on the same are periodic and ongoing process in PYP. Students and teachers actively engage in assessing the progress journey of the students through critical strategies and tools along with self assessment mode. Students performance is assessed in form of formative and summative assessments throughout the year, in accordance with overall learning expectations. PYP celebrates the culmination of learning journey in the form of grade 5 Exhibition. In summation PYP is an invigorating journey for learners to proceed to MYP in continuum of an IB philosophy.
