Why Travel Insurance is Essential

We strongly recommend that all attendees traveling to Saint Lucia purchase comprehensive travel insurance before your departure. This protects you against unforeseen circumstances including:

• Medical emergencies and hospitalization costs

• Trip cancellations or interruptions due to illness, family emergencies, or weather events

• Lost, stolen, or delayed baggage

• Flight delays or cancellations

• Emergency medical evacuation

• COVID-19 related complications (if applicable)

What Your Policy Should Cover

• At minimum, ensure your travel insurance includes:

• Medical Coverage: Minimum USD $50,000 for medical expenses and emergency treatment

• Emergency Evacuation: Coverage for medical evacuation to your home country if needed

• Trip Cancellation/Interruption: Reimbursement for non-refundable summit tickets and accommodation

• Baggage Loss/Delay: Coverage for lost luggage and essential item replacement

• Travel Delays: Compensation for accommodation and meals if flights are delayed

• Compare quotes from at least 3 providers

• Read the fine print - understand exclusions and coverage limits

• Keep documentation - save your policy number and emergency contact numbers

• Carry proof - bring a printed or digital copy of your insurance certificate

Visa Requirements for Saint Lucia

For CARICOM/Caribbean Nationals

Good News! If you're traveling from a CARICOM member state, you DO NOT need a visa to enter Saint Lucia for stays up to 6 months.

• Summit registration confirmation (recommended)

Special Note for Haiti Nationals: While visa-free entry is granted under CARICOM, you may be subject to additional screening. Ensure all documentation is in order.

For Non-CARICOM/International Nationals

Visa requirements vary by nationality. Saint Lucia has visa-free arrangements with many countries for tourism and business visits.

How to Apply:

Contact the nearest Saint Lucia Embassy or Consulate in your country

Required documents typically include:

• Completed visa application form

• Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)

• Two recent passport-sized photographs

• Summit registration confirmation letter

• Proof of accommodation

• Return flight tickets

• Bank statements (proof of financial means)

• Travel insurance certificate

Visa processing fee (varies by country)

Processing time: Allow 4-6 weeks minimum for visa processing

Important: Apply for your visa immediately after registering for the summit to avoid delays.

Health & COVID-19 Protocols

As of 2026, Saint Lucia follows standard Caribbean health protocols:

Yellow Fever: If traveling from a yellow fever endemic country, you must present a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate

COVID-19: Check the latest requirements at stlucia.org as protocols may change. Currently, proof of vaccination is not mandatory but recommended

Health Declaration Form: May be required to be completed online before arrival

Customs Declarations

Duty-Free Allowances:

• 200 cigarettes OR 50 cigars OR 250g tobacco

• 1 liter of wine OR 1 liter of spirits

• Perfume for personal use

Prohibited Items:

• Illegal drugs and narcotics

• Firearms and ammunition (without proper permits)

• Fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, and plant products (agricultural restrictions)

TRAVEL TIPS

• Currency: Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD). US dollars widely accepted. ATMs available.

• Language: English is the official language.

• Voltage: 240V, 50Hz. UK-style three-pin plugs (Type G). Bring an adapter if needed.

• Climate: March is warm and relatively dry (24-30°C / 75-86°F). Pack light, breathable clothing and sun protection.

• Transportation: Taxis and rental cars available. Personal Chauffeurs also available through the Summit affiliates, SS Executives and Mavalous Transfers. Arrange airport transfer in advance for convenience.
