This page provides an in-depth understanding of the Humanities and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) programmes from Year 1 to Year 6, and includes an overview of how the curriculum fits together as well as how these units are potentially assessed through our Age Related Expectations (AREs). Age Related Expectations - IPC
After the removal of levels as a form of reporting progress across all schools which adhere to the English National Curriculum, Age Related Expectations (AREs) were adopted to provide students and parents with a clear understanding of age relevant learning. These AREs are clearly articulated to all stakeholders (parents, teachers and students) so that an understanding expectations for that age is able to be reported. Here at BIS HCMC, the AREs used are an excellent combination of those used in England, as well as more targeted AREs which reflect our international student body, and the higher expectations we have of our students. As a school, we are committed to making these expectations clear and available to all. The following document provides a progression of the AREs in this subject.
